Happy Fourth of July!
As many of my readers may or may not know, last week I embarked on a four day road trip with my wife. We traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast, all of 3,000 miles.
When we first started out on our trip we knew it was going to be a long journey. We knew that there was going to be hiccups some second guessing and of course happiness. I liken it to most things in our financial lives.
One month we do great at saving money, the next we regress. But, by thinking of the bigger picture and having a clear end goal in mind, we can obtain most things we set our minds to. A four day road trip doesn’t seem so bad but, when you travel with two dogs, the journey becomes an adventure. We never knew when we would stop or what was going to happen, but we did have an idea of where we are going.
What financial goals have you set?
Although, you may not know how the path will look, have you even set any financial goals?
What small daily or even monthly goals have you set to make sure you are reaching your financial goals?
Are you putting things off until tomorrow?
We knew it wasn’t going to be all that much fun, being in the car for 40 hours, but we knew that by doing so each day we were getting closer to our end goal.
As Independence day is today, we are reminded that sacrifice comes in many different ways. Financial sacrifice is hard. Financial sacrifice is giving up what we know today for something we can’t imagine tomorrow.
What financial sacrifices are you making today for the benefit of tomorrow?
Enjoy your Fourth of July!
